So Troy, what exactly inspired this push?

Well, Marla, put simply, the Florida Supreme Court,

what the House Speaker Richard Corcoran has called

a collection of seven individuals in black robes

who meet in private.

Now, if you get the indication,

he has to be temporary court, you'd be correct.

That's because at pretty much every turn

over the past number of years,

they have struck down very wrong Republican laws

passed by the legislature here at the capitol.

We're talking about everything from the death penalty

to abortion rights and redistricting.

And the proposal he has right now

is to require a 12-year term limits for appellate judges

and Supreme Court judges at the stands.

They can serve as long as they want,

as long as they continue to be retained by the voters.

Even by every six years,

we have a merit for additional election.
